Best Connection Speed for Streaming Media

A broadband connection is recommended to stream live video over the internet for viewing in web browsers.

A Cable modem or DSL connection offer the bandwidth and constant connection needed to get your cams rolling at high speed and streaming live!
We have found that while a DSL connection may provide the needed bandwidth it is not the best for live streaming on custom web pages. What happens is the provider will issue a new IP address just about every time the DSL modem or router loses power. This makes it necessary to change the web page each time power is lost - not very convenient!

Stick to a good 256 - 512k cable connection if at all possible. We currently run dual 1.54m connections to keep the majority of the Cambrosia Cams running 24 hours a day - ENJOY!
